A year ago today, Colorado Rapids, decided to take part of the April Fool’s Day celebrations by trying to fool their fans and MLS followers.
They send out a media release and even Twitter announcements that confirmed that the Rapids would be wearing the same look uniform warned by former NASL franchise Colorado Caribous.
The uniforms are so ridiculous that you couldn’t take it seriously, but when the club sends out a media release and uses social media to spread the news of this event, one starts to wonder.
After all, we are talking about MLS. We have all seen our fair share of horrible looking uniforms. Most of them were in the early days of NASL and MLS, but the images are still fresh in our mind as a reminder of what poor taste and horrible marketing can do when left unattended.
