5 Funny Chants Directed At Players in EPL

Football fans are remarkably creative when it comes to whipping up a quick chant directed at a player. While some are based on an occurrence, others have to do with a footballer's behavior or even physical feature. Here are 5 of my favorites from the EPL.

#5 - John Carew

In 2008, after the Aston Villa striker was seen visiting a strip-club, the home fans used the tune 'Que Sera Sera' to idolize their beloved attacker with this number:

"John Carew, Carew. He likes a lap-dance or two. He might even pay for you. John Carew, Carew"

#4 - Luis Suárez

Manchester United fans will obviously use anything they can to annoy the supporters and players of rival club Liverpool, so when the Uruguayan played for The Reds United fans used Suárez's distinguishing physical appearance to create this chant:

"Your teeth are offside, your teeth are offside, Luis Suarez, your teeth are offside"

#3 - Bobby Zamora

When striker Bobby Zamora had trouble finding the net for a period of time, Fulham FC fans quickly turned to Dean Martin's 'That's Amore' tune to make fun of him.

"When you're sat in row Z, and the ball hits your head, that's Zamora, that’s Zamora"

#2 - Nani

When Manchester United supporters noticed a slight resemblance of winger Nani to pop king Michael Jackson, they immediately turned Jackson's infamous 'Smooth Criminal into their own version.

'Nani are you okay, are you okay, are you okay Nani?'

#1 - John Terry

Every English football fan is aware of John Terry's affair with teammate Wayne Bridge's girlfriend, but instead of opposing fans coming up with something nasty against the Chelsea center-back it was the Blues' supporters that sang this chant:

"Chelsea, wherever you may be, keep your wife from John Terry"
